FAQs

Let’s explore the most frequently asked questions

What is the Deloitte Top 200 programme?

The annual Deloitte Top 200 programme encompasses three Top 200 indices, the Top 200 Index (ranked by revenue), the Top 30 Financial Institutions Index (ranked by asset base), and the Top 10 Maori Business Index (ranked by asset base).

Eligible entities can include publicly-listed companies, large unlisted entities, New Zealand subsidiaries and branches of overseas companies and the commercial operations of Maori entities. Producer boards, co-operatives, local authority trading enterprises and state-owned enterprises may also be included on the indices.

The Top 200 awards and gala night, usually held in December, is also part of the Deloitte Top 200 programme, and celebrates award finalists and winners. Independent judges evaluate and select the finalists and winners. Further details on the judges can be found here.

How do I apply for an award?

There are two award categories for which an organisation or individual can enter: the Young Executive of the Year and Diversity & Inclusion Leadership awards.

Other category finalists are selected by independent judges (rather than through award entry).

This year, entries for the above two award categories close on 1 August 2024.

All entries are kept confidential and are only reviewed by independent judges.

When are the Deloitte Top 200 indices released?

The three indices are released annually, usually in December. This year, the indices will be published on 5 December 2024 following the Top 200 awards and gala dinner. See here for the Top 200 Indices released on 6 December 2023.
